Donnie What-O?
Yesterday, in addition to giving myself a pedi and a mani (puke puke - pink, no less. I am a girl after all), I watched Far From Heaven and Donnie Darko. Far From Heaven I loved. It captured the time so well, without being overly campy, and Juliane Moore played within it fabulously. Donnie Darko, I became obsessed with. I have a need to understand movies that seem to make no sense. I'm that girl who always guesses the random plot twist before it happens. If you've seen the movie, you understand how it was an immediate challenge. I proceeded to watch all the deleted scenes (once with commentary on, once with commentary off), only to discover that half of the missing pieces in the movie were cut from the film (!?!?!?!). So then I watched the whole movie again, with the commentary on, and for two minutes after I finished, I got it. If you haven't seen it, do so. If nothing, it's art at it's best - inspiring a hell of a lot of reaction.
