Why Do I Feel Guilty?

Why do I feel slightly guilty for liking Will Smith's new album Lost and Found. In true Nicole fashion, I haven't listened to the whole album all the way through (b/c I always listen on shuffle play), but when I was deciding to buy the whole thing, ALL of the clips I listened to got my booty shakin'. Yesterday, the song Ms. Holy Roller Ms. Holy Roller had me floored, and reminded me why I should NOT feel guilty liking Will's new album, which is b/c the boy is smart and has balls. The song is dedicated to a specific person (though if it's her real name or not we may never know), and he basically proceeds to tell her off about the fact that suddenly, after 35 years, she "found" Jesus in a way that includes her telling everyone else they are going to hell. And how dammit, we need to all wake up and get a clue before we are such a splintered world that we all spend our free time killing each other "in the name of the Lord."

Go Will. Get Jiggy With It. Gettin' Jiggy Wit It

Big Will freaking rocks. Always has, always will. Love the Will. I even forgive him for that atrocious "Will2K" song. Which was kind of fun, the lyrics were just out-the-ass inSANE, and K-Ci's backing vocals ruined the whole damned thing completely. Dying aardvark, that one.

It's kinda weird but I releate Will Smith to Matthew Broderick. MB will always and forever be Ferris Bueller, just as Will Smith will always and forever be the Fresh Prince. No two ways about it. And that's all I have to say about that.

Now, to real business, where did you get the perfect little iTunes icons??

i haven't heard the albulm..but yeah his persona is so compelling. and i want some of whatever he and jada got..with their little happy, cute, functional selves. i saw him on jay leno last night...which was probably a rerun...but i was cheezing the whole time, and thinking, "look at him!...you go boy!". my favorite quote: "life is all about readin and runnin".

I found your blog as the result of a Google search for "Ms. Holy Roller". I was trying to find more background about this song.

I like the new CD, but I have mixed feelings about it. He seems to be talking a lot of trash, and comes off quite arrogant in most songs. I do hope the CD does well, and Big Willie doesn't fall on his face with this release.

BTW, I'm also from STL. :)

I have to be honest, I still haven't listened to the entire album in its entirety. But you know, I tend to forgive Big Willie his arrogance, b/c really, can it be taken seriously? When he's arogant, I kinda just laugh, b/c after all, he's the Fresh Prince!
