It's Not Like Riding a Bicycle I Tell You
This morning marked my 3rd (2.5 really) round of golf since returning to the Midwest, where it is not a major feat to go play. I think that if I count all the times I played in NYC, it would be my 6th round in about 10 years. If I count Hawai'i, then that's 7. With my new clubs, that's probably round 4. And there are indeed still clubs in my bag from that fateful day in 1986 when I saved all my pennies and bought those super hot Lady Rams. Hell yes.
So it would seem to make sense that my game is a complete mess, right? New clubs (from 14 yr old girl clubs to oversized men's clubs), haven't played consistently in ages, blah blah blah. Well, let me tell you - it doesn't make the mess ANY MORE TOLERABLE. I want to pick up where I left off back in the mid-eighties. And I want it NOW!
I am amazed, however, that my attitude is generally (so far) that I want to be out there as often as humanly possible (which would explain our 6:15am tee time this morning, and the fact that I was not only on time but EARLY). There kinda really is nothing like popping your shoes into the trunk, exchanging them for your golf shoes, transferring your phone and wallet to your bag and heading off into the sunrise. Regardless of the fact that I sliced almost every shot I hit, as Dave says, there's [almost] no better way to start the day.

Who are you telling?! I, too, wish I could pick up where I left off (and it wasn't as stellar a point as you). Golf is so a sport where you are "competing" with yourself to make your swing DO what you envision in your head (patience and maturity of mind/attitude are key). I play my second round in my league tomorrow....
