Cards/Cubs
Cards were victorious today, though it was a pretty boring game. I had trouble staying awake. Had the same problem last week. Perhaps I am suddenly bored by baseball? Nah, I don't think so. :).

American Idol Top 7 - Late
Chris - Finally getting to hear him sing something besides ROCK, and he sounds like the American Idol he is. 'Nuff said.
Paris - STOP WITH THE HAIR PIECES. I'm kind of unexcited by this.
Taylor - Happy to see Taylor BEING STILL. STILL.
Elliott - here's hoping he leaves that happy happy happy face @ home. Not so much. And his voice is markedly not as good as Chris Daughtry's.
Notice I'm not talking about rod Stewart's hair matching his suit.
Kelly "I'm so friggin' aNNOYING" Pickler - WHY IS SHE STILL HERE? I'm mean. But I'm right. Though here, if she weren't opening her mouth, she'd seem pretty classy. Dude, the first class band is TRYING TO HELP YOU. SLOW DOWN. Gr. Go home. Why does Paula always have to find something positive to say? And why is it always either completely irrelevant, or an outright LIE.
Ace - Is that a BUN in the back of his head? That's all. Pun intended. Fully.
Katherine - rules. Though she didn't top many of the kick ass renditions I've heard in piano bars. For which I was thankful.

Let's Go Cardinals

Today was the first day in our new weekend season tickets seats at the new Busch Stadium. Cards won today, which is always nice. The new stadium is also pretty dern nice. Didn't get to wonder around much, but plenty more games left in which to do that. We didn't even get there until the second inning becuase we were buying my wedding dress (yay!) which I love and is fabulous. But I digress. My favorite thing about our new location is that it is under COVER. Like, today when it was raining? We were straight. However, the drawback is the 1/3 of the big screen is cut off by said overhang. But I'm willing to make the trade. Also, last year we were on the end of the isle. This year, almost smack dab in the middle. But the overhand thing is so worth it. SO. Here's our view for the season:

Chocolate Dessert Skit
Yeah, so I laughed out loud at the chocolate dessert skit on SNL.
Though the laser cat skit is not unfunny.

Lost
Two words: Rose and Bernard.
I LOVE THIS STORYLINE. Every time they have a moment - or even half of a moment, I am so crying. So sweet. So well written.

Oh, Omaha
I have too much work to do this second to get into this right now, but discuss.
Dr. Kira and I discussed it briefly on the way into work this morning. We recently did an interview on my show about the move "Crash," and she's been talking alot about Black. White. on FX and sent me this article yesterday. She'd seen the Gates' on Oprah this week talking about their new initiative, standup.org focused on the attrocious high school graduation rate in our country and the effects it will eventully have on America as a world leader.
I don't understand why we don't understand. *sigh*
an MP3 of the interview I heard this morning about it from the KMOX website here. You can also go to kmox.com and look for the streaming version under On-Air/Total Information AM.

American Idol Top 8
Bucky. WHY ARE YOU STILL IN THIS COMPETITION?? News flash. That's not singing. That's, like, growling.
PS - Paula, no one has that much hair. We know it's FAKE. thanks.
Ace - "when I met with Queen, i realized that I myself am a Queen." Look at Queen trying to say something nice about Ace. I feel as though I'm watching Karaoke Revolution, live.
What? No Mickey Dolenz.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOO KELLY PICKLER SINGING BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY LOOKING LIKE BONNI TYLER. No - nnnno - don't touch your head. this hurts. what's with the hot pants and cat stance? Out Tonight meets Idol on CRACK?
They are having a hard time getting Queen to say anything.
Chris - no need to say anything. Though I am kind of bored by this.
McPhee - this song hurts to listen to kind of. It's way too dramatic to NOT be part of a movie soundtrack. Keep it. And she's kind of yelling. and it's kind of loud. But she remains, kind of good. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Queen.
Why is the Queen logo on fire?
Elliott is looking more and more odd. Or maybe he really only does one style, so as he is "stretched" he seems more odd. I feel like he was "cooler" and more laid back toward the beginning, and now there's this "let me entertain you sort of film over his eyes.
No, Taylor. You don't "get" to dance, you AVOID DANCING AT ALL COSTS. Holy goodness. He just missed kicked the mic stand and that was maybe the funniest thing I've seen this whole season. He sho' did tear this up tho. I just clapped out loud in my family room.
What is with Paris' dominatrix outfit. And oh, look, they put a different wig on her - what an original choice. Is this song from one of the Bond movies?
I can't believe these are the eight we're left with, btw. Feh.

Can't Say it Enough
I know I've said it a million times, and I may even have said that I know I've said it a million times, but WHY IS LOST SO GOOD? Seriously. I was two weeks behind, and last night I caught up big time. While I was sad to be two weeks behind, there is something to be said for not having to wait a week between episodes. I got a taste of watching it on DVD, which has to be just a little intense.
Locke makes me SO SAD. Four ridiculously sad and awful things have happened to him, and we still don't know how he lost use of his legs. Good GRACIOUS. That's all I'll say to keep from spoiling.
So. Tired.

So MIA
I've been MIA. And for that, I have many reasons. I am sad that I've missed the last two weeks of Idol as well as the last two weeks of LOST. See, that's how little free time I've had.
Work is part of it. I added two words and an additional paragraph to my job desctiption. All in all, an incredible opportunity, but definitely a lot of work. For those who tune in to the show, there will be new episodes starting this Sat.
I also travelled all but one weekend this month. I'm ready to stay put for a minute.
I also got engaged on Thursday :). I am very very very very happy, and excited.
Friday was a great follow-up day - gorgeous weather (even though the twisters were supposed to return), and half the office got out together for a patio lunch at Laluma. Then in the eve I met Beth and Cody for dinner before heading to the Collinsville VFW for some karaoke that wasn't. Photos of the day, here.
Today Cameron and I cleaned his house with reckless abandon in honor of Tom and Sheridan coming over tomorrow for the ceremonial splitting of the weekend season tickets. The place looks good.
Now, we're watching baseball. A's and Mariners to be exact. Cameron has MLB extra innings, so basically, we watch baseball nonstop from April through October. My favorite part of extra innings is getting to see the local commercials. I just got really confused by a Quest commercial.
