My Sister is a Friggin' Rock Star
To Quote my brother-in-law:

Tonight, Kira [my sister] won the 2006 Athena Award for being an overall outstanding female leader as well as role model in community service. It's not verified yet but she is believed to be the youngest award winner in the history of the 20+ year event (typically the award is given to women twice her age). Each year, the award is presented in over 300 areas in the country, not to mention internationally. More info on the award here.
Her mother was there as well to witness her winning the award. We're all proud of her so take time to congratulate her on a job extremely well done next time you talk to her!

Walkin' in Memphis... Again
Back in Memphis, one week later. Flew to Jackson Wednesday night, party in Jackon Thursday night. Flew to Memphis this morning, breakfast at The Peabody, on our way back to the airport.

Walkin' in Memphis
Somehow, right now I am in Memphis @ BB Kings on Beale street. And the band just played "Bad Boy Havin' a Party."
Left St. louis headed for Columbia, SC this morning, originally set to stop in Spartenburg on our way home to check out a hotel. We tought we had successfully convinced the powers that be that we should fly back to St. Louis tonight, but then find out that no, we're stopping in Memphis to see a different hotel.
And so here I am. On Beale Street at midnight on a random Thursday night. Honestly, a good way to end the 9/11 week.
And now they're playin' "Easy Like Sunday Mornin'." Life is good.

Puppy on the Road!
We're driving up to Yates City, IL (exactly) for a wedding gig, and we're on 55, and traffic slows. We're thinking it's construction, but then we see people running up the grass between the north and southbound lanes. We're like, wtf, and then we see a PUPPY. As we passed, the puppy darted across the highway, and made it.
Random.
