Vote for Maya!
Here's a vote I can get behind.
Maya Azucena, rockstar of the universe, is up for Best Female Vocalist in the SoulTracks Readers Choice Awards. Do I read SoulTracks? No. Might I if I had time? Maybe. Does any of that matter if I'm helping Ms. Maya leap to stardom? NO! You can vote by clicking the image below:
If you're like, "Maya, who?" be sure to check her out via my links to the right.

Lost on Me
I'm not sure why, but the whole "we won the World Series" thing is totally lost on me. I can't even dredge up faux excitement. I recognize that it's good for the city and the paper and downtown and all that. It's kind of a bummer that the money grubbingness of the Cards totally paid off (though with the worst record ever), but I'm not even really worked up about that. Just total, well, indifference.
I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's due to the fact that I got married last week and pretty much everything besides the experiences of the wedding week and the people surrounding it seems less than important. I'm a little surprised at myself as to just how moved I am by the whole thing. And It's like I process it all a little more every day - which, I suppose, is very Nicole Hudson, the whole delayed emotional reaction thing :).
Speaking of which, here are some more photos from the weekend, as recorded by Cameron's groomsman, Donnie: here.
Also, I thought I'd post the text from our program.
And, what's up with Indiana anyway?

Wedding Program Text
WEDDING PARTY
Parents of the Bride
Dr. James Hudson and Mrs. Saundra Johnson Hudson
Parents of the Groom
Mr. Robert Hollway and Mrs. Lexie Hollway
Officiant
Judge Mike Brown
Best Man
Mr. Robert Hollway Bobby is Cameron's older brother, as if you couldn't tell. He's the automotive department manager at Sears in San Angelo and one of the better pool players in West Texas. Bobby's son, Garrett, is 9.
Groomsmen
Mr. Kevin Tims “Slim” is one of Cameron's closest friends, dating back to their time at Wall High School and as fraternity brother at Angelo State. Kevin and Rachel have two children, Samantha (10) and Austin (3). Slim is a district manager for Town & Country convenience stores.
Mr. Don Reed “Reedsie” is Cameron's golfing buddy, and one mean poker player. From St. Joseph, Missouri, Don has two children: Ellie (14) and Daniel (11). He's the night sports editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Mr. Roger Hensley Roger loves the Chicago Bears and White Sox, Notre Dame football, and Bobby Knight. An Indiana native, Roger and Cathy have two beautiful daughters, Abbie (8) and Emma (6). In his spare time, Roger is the deputy sports editor at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Matron of Honor
Dr. Kira Banks Kira is the world’s youngest PhD and general academic superstar. She is an assistant professor of psychology at Illinois Wesleyan University, and her area of research is racial identity development. She rocks a mean karaoke mic, especially when Kelly Clarkson is involved.
Bridesmaids
Mrs. Kathryn Iwanusa Kathi is a music teacher, sax player and mother extraordinaire. Kathi lived next door to Nicole in Brooklyn, and they logged many an hour on rat runs, at Target and at the New York Youth Theatre. She has two children, Erin and Matthew, and recently married “Mister Jim” (Conmy).
Dr. Karyn Fowler Karyn and Nicole met in the Saturday Suzuki program before they terrorized the halls of Edwardsville Jr. High School together – or was it the other way around?… Back in the Midwest after completing her residency in Denver. She and her husband Dr. Chad Fowler reside in O’Fallon, Mo.
Ms. Jennifer Mudge Nicole met Jennifer while working at Alan Wasser Associates in New York, where Jennifer is the office manager (queen of the world). They were original members of the office softball team, The Broadway Bombers. The Bombers didn’t win many games, but with uniforms designed by the folks who designed the logo for the Phantom of the Opera, they sure did look good.
Ushers
Mr. Tony Aguirre Cameron's other brother from another mother, Tony has been an unofficial Hollway since he was coached by Ol' Bob in Little League. Tony and his wife Wendy live in San Angelo with their family. Tony is in the automotive financing business.
Mr. James Conmy “Mister Jim” has put up with more than his fair share of girls nights in which he has exhibited the patience of a saint. When he’s not managing every word that comes out of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, he’s crunking. Watch out on the dance floor.
Mr. Jim Inghram “Ingy” was a colleague of Cameron's at the Post-Dispatch for several years before recently moving back to his native Southern California. Jim's passions are the Padres, UCLA athletics and anything trivia. He's a writer for a manufacturing trade magazine.
Ring Bearers
Mr. Ryan Gully The son of Cameron's close friends Randy and Tammy Gully, Ryan (6) is in kindergarten at Wall Elementary. He and older brother Layton (8) help their parents on the family farm.
Mr. J. Mackenzie Brewer MacKenzie is Nicole’s second cousin, son of her cousin Jasmine Brewer. He may act like he’s shy, but know that it’s just an act. He’s a charmer first class. MacKenzie is 3 and started pre-kindergarten this fall.
Attendants
Ms. Callista Chen, Candle Attendant is one of Nicole’s closet high school friends, and one of the better writers she knows. When she’s not traveling the world on a whim because she can, and sometimes at the same time, she works for McKinsey & Co. as an associate editor for their quarterly business journal.
Mrs. Tammy Gully, Candle Attendant is Cameron's closest high school friend. She's a teacher, and she and her husband Randy own a farm near Wall. Tammy, who is never without her camera, is the world's best scrapbooker. She and Randy have two children, Layton and Ryan.
Ms. Edie Hollway, Candle Attendant is Cameron's sister and the youngest of the Hollway siblings. Edie has been employed for eight years by San Angelo National Bank, where she's the head teller. Edie and her fiancee Andy have been together for eight years.
Ms. Tracy Saunders, Candle Attendant is Cameron's sister and the senior of the four Hollway kids. She's the mother of four outstanding children (Paul, Matthew, Stephanie and Lexie) and the grandmother of Stephanie's son, Cameron.
Mrs. Bonni Burns Schuette, Program Attendant Bonni is Nicole’s immediate supervisor and general sanity from 9-5 Monday through Friday in addition to being her most recent BFF. OMGCYBTI???
Mr. Kent Schuette, Program Attendant Kent is not only Bonni’s husband, but the hottest guitar player in the Midwest. His licks and riffs can be heard every year in the massive fundraiser he and Bonni produce for a local home for mentally disabled adults.
Musicians
Ms. Maya Azucena Maya and Nicole bonded for the first time on a trip to San Angelo to sing back-up with Allan Harris at Fort Concho in 2003. Describing her as a singer song-writer doesn’t begin to explain the gift she possesses.
Mr. Christian Verhalen When he’s not playing, writing or touring with Maya, Christian is producing shows at the Blue Note in New York, or spending time with his rock star of a wife, Nisha – though none of the above are mutually exclusive.
Readers
Dr. Kira Banks
Mr. James Weitzer Nicole and Jim met at Northwestern, where he began his career as a musical theatre heartthrob. As roommates, Nicole and Jim spent many a late night rewriting the popular musical theatre cannon. For hours.

So 1999
The Mastercard "Build Your Business" sweepstakes commercial? So BitFlip 1999.
In other news, I can't stopping singing SexyBack. Make it stop.
And why am I the only person who doesn't like Two and a Half Men? I mean, I think it's barely not awful. But the rest of the world seems to love it. What am I missing.
Speaking of SexyBack, why is everyone using it in their promos. Everywhere?

United 93
I've decided to watch United 93 tonight. Not saying that I'm ready or anything. I thought about randomly going to the theatre to see it while it was still in theatres, and just never made it. Since World Trade Center (w/ Nicholas Cage) came out, I've kind of been watching OnDemand for it, every once in a blue moon when I might have the 2 hours. Finally found it.
It's about 10 minutes in. I kinda feel like I'm going to puke.

The Way It Goes
I'm not going to try to say that I was the only one talking about all this 12 years ago, but I was definitely saying all of this 12 years ago. With some of you as my witness.
