Just, so, perfect.
Let me encourage you to make sure you've seen all of the mac pc ads. Hilarious, and just so true. I mean, they are so 1994, but it's good that the rest of the world is being given a chance to catch up on the knowledge :).

A Transformation
Tonight I truly became... The Wedding Singer.
I've been singing with Downtime for a few months now, and while I do sing "I Will Survive," "We Are Family" and other such standard wedding tunes, Mat's really The Wedding Singer of the bunch. He grabs the cordless and heads out into the audience for The Electric Slide. He gets them to sing "La la la la la la la la la la di da" on "Brown-eyed Girl," he's getting solos from the audience on "Mustang Sally." So far, I just sing the chick tunes and look good.
Well, tonight, all that changed.
I don't know if it was my new status as a married woman, me being comfortable, or maybe it was just written in the stars, but tonight, my friends, I made my debut.
It all started with "We Are Family." I had seen a band do an audience participation bit in the middle of the song back in September, and I'd immediately texted Jon and said we had to do it. Even though I was so not ready to actually do it. Luckily the next wedding we played it just wouldn't have flown. Well, tonight, the mood was perfect, the crowd was primed, and, well, I did it. I initiated crowd participation in the copacity of a singer with a band at a wedding. Making me, A Wedding Singer.
Apparently I liked it, because in "I Will Survive," I invented a NEW crowd participation bit - ON THE SPOT. Talk about out of the gate running. And it involved the Soul Clap.
I proceeded to adlib, interact and generally go hog wild throughout the rest of the evening. And I daresay it was one of the funnest ever. I even won the newly inaugerated nightly gig award, given by my bandmates.
Now that I'm out of my shell, be warned, young paduan. Be warned.
