Kickin' it old school

Ok. I'm totally guilty. The notes, posted items and status updates over on facebook have me neglecting my blog. Who knew that blogging would become so quickly obsolete? Your facebook profile becomes an automatic blog, and the facebook homepage is like being able to check ALL of your friends' blogs on one page. Have I mentioned that I love it???

Sorry.

So, as blogged by my sis, on Saturday night the power went out at 7 Pinebrook. Cameron left for TX on Friday and Kira, Aaron and Avery were in town so I had packed my things to hunker down in E'ville for the weekend. The power went out at 3:15 and didn't come back until sometime in the middle of the night. When I got home from my walk and trip to the new winery (yes! in Edwardsville!), around 7:30, everyone was hunkered down around the dining room table. We all stayed right there until 11pm.

It's too bad that it takes divine intervention for people to sit around and talk like that. At one point, googleless, the dictionary was fetched to provide a basis for the debate over the differece between an analogy and a metaphor. My dad clarified how he chose ophthalmology. I realized that the nice man having dinner with my boss earlier in the week with whom I discussed the pros and cons of his daughter wanting to move to NYC was also the first black man to walk in space. (OK, I cheated on that one, I had battery left on my phone which has a browser.)

Anyway. Perhaps we should have no power more often.
