[Mount soapbox] I can't help
[Mount soapbox] I can't help but be in a fury about the fact that what's going on in Iraq is a surprise why??? This is only the way We (as a country) have always treated humans that we've politically or religiously decided or been told aren't really human. It's deep deep deep in the history of this country - of this World for that matter - WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??? (except Rush Limbaugh, who's callin' it like it is "just good ol' boys, lettin' off some steam"). Until we can look in the mirror and talk about these atrocities - that as they are happening are never atrocities, or only circumstancial politicized astrocities - for what they are and as a pattern, this will continue. Continously. [Dismount Soapbox]

Hear Hear. My whole thing is that there have been studies that have shown that this is EXACTLY what happens when people are put in situations like these. I can't say why that is, but I do know enough not to be surprised and confused when it occurs. THIS IS WHAT WAR DOES TO PEOPLE. If we don't like it so much, we shouldn't be engaged in war. It's sad, wrong and atrocious, but it's not a surprise and unfortunately is nothing new.
