Live from the Convention... or the Hotel Near the Convention...

1. We love wireless internet access in the hotel room.

2. They turn the applause sound DOWN on TV. I was on the phone with my mom (b/c the front desk suddenly had no key for me) and on the TV in the lounge it seemed as though no one was clapping. However, on the phone, I needed it at least 10 feet from my EAR.

3. At the end of the portion of the speech that concluded the international portion of Teresa Heinz Kerry's speech, she mentions all the "Continental Africans." The C-Span cameras immediately went to a light skinned black woman, who was clearly from the suburbs of some medium sized city, NOT, I repeat, NOT a Continental African by any stretch of the imagination. Not even a by mistake.

4. Some delegates are scary.

5. Some of their children are even more scary.

6. Sometimes, delegates know they are on camera (when it's supposed to be candid). I don't think, however, that they know they look lame, trying to pretend they don't know they are on camera.

7. Cheney time out - funny.

8. Chochkeys = bad.

9. Red white and blue themed chochkeys (that light up) - worse.
